Bourbon Street Sweet & Savory – Lunch – December 26, 2025 – Yucaipa, CA.

What a great find in this adorable little town. The day after Christmas, what a treat. I have done many reviews in this great picturesque area, but I will become a regular at Bourbon Street Sweet & Savory, it’s just that good! If you are looking for great Louisiana cuisine in the San Bernardino area – than this restaurant is for you.

Young owners; Verenice Rivera and Tyler Long are so proud of all their recent accomplishments. Veronique grew up in nearby Beaumont, so she is very familiar with this area and how to make a new food place a huge sensation. For now, Verenice is working on getting the bulk of her products from Louisiana, but she has been doing great with local purveyors. This location was a few failed Asian inspired restaurants, when Verenice got wind of this location, she jumped on making it happen. Her and Tyler had to spend quite a lot of money to get it up to code, but now everyone in Yucaipa and beyond can enjoy the fruits of their labor. She completely redid the interior as well as fun colorful signage outside that fully represents what New Orleans is all about. She is very dedicated to making Bourbon Street Sweet & Savory a well visited successful establishment. Her and Tyler get in to work at 5am to start all of their lovely stews, sauces, and dishes. Before this they had a stall in many local markets and at events. Recently they were at The San Miguel Pow Wow, where they sold out of my most of their menu items, but this is their first brick and mortar location. A dream they both had fully realized.

Here’s What I tired:

Sweet Iced Tea, a perfect way to start my glorious meal.

Strawberry Refresher, they make this with fresh strawberries every day, and it is fantastic.

Jambalaya, with shrimp and chicken, it really hit the spot. The shrimps are plum and fresh, with terrific authentic Cajun seasoning. Even better than what I had in New Orleans.

Chicken Andouille Gumbo. They give you a big pile of white fluffy rice, with the gumbo all around the rice, just the same as they do in New Orleans, and it was just spectacular.

Beef Tacos, nicely seasoned beef with soft tortillas, very delicious.

Mac n Cheese, creamy and cheesy, a very good rendition of this popular staple.

Rib Eye, this meat is cooked and seasoned to perfection. When you have a hankering for grilled rib eye this is the menu item to order.

Crawfish Monica. It is super tasty, served on top of fusilli pasta, for sure a must have.

Desert:

Beignet, Powdered Sugar, and Cinnamon Sugar. These little darlings both were outstanding, very authentic. A true New Orleans treat.

The best part of this surprise dining delight was meeting most of Tylers family, including his mom Kim, his brothers and his Grandparents – Chuck and Sandy, all of which had some great tidbits of their history and why they are so proud of him. Momma Kim says, “There is really something for everyone here at Bourbon Street Sweet & Savory, so bring your family and come on down.” Sandy and Chuck have lived for 33 years in Redlands coming from Chicago. Chuck says that both Tyler and younger brother Hayden, 19, are workaholics. Mom Kim lives in Cherry Valley and is so proud of her boys.

For now, when you order you get everything in togo containers, they would have to buy a very expensive grease cutter to be able to serve in any kind of ceramic plates. My theory is that people in this area don’t really care how it is served as long as it is excellent quality and amazing flavors, and Bourbon Street Sweet & Savory has all of its bases covered.

Bourbon Street Sweet & Savory has only been open for 2 weeks, but they have already had many repeat customers. Yucaipa was due for something this good, I am so glad that Tyler and Verenice decided to take a chance on this lovely little town that I call home.

From Bourbon Street Sweet & Savory: “Bourbon Street Sweet & Savory is New Orleans style food. On our savory side we have our marinated juicy tender Cajun steak that you can pair with Nachos, Fries, Tacos, Mac & cheese, or street corn. We also have a juicy, tender, melt in your mouth Cajun Ribeye. We will soon add to our menu muffuletta’s, PoBoys, andouille Cajun pasta & more. On select weekends we will have different option of Cajun cuisine such as Gumbo etc. Last but not least on our sweet side is our freshly made Beignets. Come and taste the “clouds”. Pair our delicious Beignet’s with some delicious coffee, milkshakes, & more.”

Make way Yucaipa, Bourbon Street Sweet & Savory is bringing amazing Cajun Cuisine and is here to stay!
