This year was a stellar year for television. Seeing that I am a Television Academy Member I get to go to loads of events, as well as get invited to attend through friends, family, and industry associates. So, I really got to see many of the shows and be wined and dined during the “FYC – For Your Consideration” events earlier in the year.
Mariska Hargitay did a great job. She was glamorous, exciting, relevant and funny all in one gorgeous package. She manages to be very relatable. What really was not mentioned was that she already won 2 Emmy’s for her documentary about her mom Jayne Mansfield – “My Mom Jayne”, for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Special. and Outstanding Directing (2026). I highly recommend seeing it, it really gives you some insight into Mariska’s life and her very prolific career.
The awards were filled with laughter, sadness, and many unexpected wins. Jamie Lee Curtis did an emotional tribute to all that were lost this past year, with her fucus on Rob Reiner. I also loved the great tribute to Catherine O’Hara by her on screen kids; Macaulay Culkin, Dan Levy, and Annie Murphy. John Mulaney added some great comedy to this Hollywood awards staple, to me he really stole the show. Jean Smart was very humble and gracious, her fifth win. Stephen Colbert and his staff were so authentic, you just knew they meant every word of their speech. Matthew Rhys made history becoming the first person to win two lead acting awards in a single night, across all three major television genres. There were too many exceptional wins by all of these brilliant actors. This has really become one of my most favorite nights in Hollywood, here to next year!!
