The location is just the best in Los Angeles, Beverly Hills area, at the renown Beverly Center. The previous restaurant there was Oleada Cocina, which was a plant-based Mexican restaurant. They really did not last very long from what I have heard. Ambrosia brings together the warmth of Greek hospitality and the timeless flavors of Italian cuisine for an elevated Mediterranean dining experience. Crafted with fresh, high-quality ingredients, the menu features handcrafted pastas, wood-fired pizzas, fresh seafood, premium meats, vibrant salads, and authentic Greek specialties inspired by the coastlines of Greece and Italy. Guests can expect thoughtfully prepared dishes that blend traditional recipes with modern culinary techniques. More than a meal, Ambrosia offers a welcoming atmosphere where friends and family gather to savor the spirit of Mediterranean living—making it a destination worth returning to.
Owners Vasili and Artmeda Nazeraj have been in the hospitality industry for many years. They own a few restaurants in Las Vegas and Arizona. They also have a retail clothing space in the Beverly Center – Alexandra Beverly Hills. Vasili hails from Crete, Greece, so many of his menu items have Greek flavors and seasonings. They are both super busy with their businesses, but get help from their parents raising their 3 children in Las Vegas. The plan is for them to relocate to Los Angeles as soon as possible. Vasili’s father owned a few fast-food restaurants as well as a butcher store back home in Greece. It’s all really one big family affair. My server Mustafa was also a great added addition.
Here’s What I Tried:
To Start:
Ambrosia Mezze Platter – tabouli salad, tzatziki, hummus, baba ghanoush, and warm pita. The presentation is fantastic, and all of these superb dips are just what the doctor ordered as a starter. It is healthy and light, it was all a great way to start my experience.
Frito Misto, with crispy calamari, shrimp, lemon, fresh herbs, house zesty aioli. The shrimp are butterflied, and the calamari is light and tender, another great starter.
Mediterranean Octopus, with chargrilled octopus, olive oil, lemon, and fresh herbs. Some diners are squeamish about octopus, but cooked right it is very amazing, this one did not disappoint. It has a nice thick sauce, with capers, it’s just really a terrific starter.
Salad:
Greek Salad, with tomato, cucumber, bell pepper, red onion, olives, feta, oregano, and extra virgin olive oil, with grilled chicken breast. The vegetables are cut very large and it makes for one hearty, filling salad, especially with the chicken breast alongside.
Fresh House Made Pasta:
Linguine al Tre Frutti, house made linguine with a Mediterranean inspired preparation with seafood. The seafood is fresh and delightful; the red sauce has a bit of a kick but is equally wonderful.
From The Land:
Herb-Grilled Lamb Chops – 3 lamb chops, with Provençal ratatouille, grilled zucchini with feta, rosemary jus, and fresh herbs. These lamb chops are succulent and tender, cooked to perfection. The sides that come with it are pure heaven, a great menu item.
Dessert:
Cheesecake, delicious super creamy with mint and strawberries.
Vanilla Gelato with strawberries and blue berries. The gelato melts in your mouth, I would get this desert every time.
Wine:
Chardonnay, any of the seafood dishes are perfect with this fruity effervescent wine.
Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine was perfect with mezze platter and the lamb chops, it hit all of the right notes.
Pinot Noir, this wine enhanced the warm herb lamb chops.
Ambrosia has only been opened 3 weeks, they are still testing many of their menu items, but what I tried was really superb. The interior is huge, with indoor outdoor seating and a huge u-shaped bar. The handprinted black stripped celling is at the center of the dining room. It is all designed very elegantly. The dining has very nice marble tabletops, and big velvet banquettes. Theres a private party room, with a big gorgeous open kitchen. A nice touch are low ceramic light fixtures that lite everything served to you. The cool white cactus at the entrance is very welcoming, with big arched windows in the main dining room. The space is very clean and modern, a perfect spot of any meals and dining room.
What I can say about Ambrosia Beverly Hills, is it is a welcome new edition for this area for Mediterranean cuisine. When you’re in the area go try this new spot, you will be glad you did.
